Sentinel is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with CCNA certification for a hands-on Cisco networking experience. This position is critical to maintaining and advancing current network projects. You should have an advanced familiarity with router and switch configuration. This role works directly with our Network Manager to ensure seamless operations and project continuity. This is a 2-3 month contract opportunity located in Avondale, Arizona.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Maintenance: Ensure stable and secure communication services by maintaining Cisco LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
  • Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot production network services to guarantee high availability and reliability.
  • Documentation: Keep network topology documentation up-to-date.
  • Hardware Configuration: Install and configure network hardware, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, and telephony systems.
  • Security: Perform network audits, backups, and security checks; maintain inventory of network assets.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee cabling vendor activities, procurement, and negotiations for network-related products and services.
  • Fiber Optic Projects: Assist with fiber optic patching and related network changes for ongoing fiber buildout projects.

Qualifications

  • CCNA certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cisco networking
  • Proven expertise in configuring switches following template
  • Hands-on configuration of firewalls, wireless and phone systems
  • Proficiency and execution of basic Network Security measures
  • Experience managing vendors and vendor expectations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for documentation and instruction
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required for travel within city limits
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
