Sentinel is looking for an IT Specialist to assist one of our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations of hardware, software, and network systems. You will work alongside senior IT staff to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and implement IT solutions that improve the efficiency and security of the organization. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel infrequently to Elkhart, IN. This is a contract to hire reporting onsite in Valparaiso, IN.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support, including hardware and software troubleshooting, network configuration, and system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, along with popular software applications and utilities.
  • Experience with Azure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience implementing security measures.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing services (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Position requires lifting of up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 150 lbs. with assistance
  • Position requires the carrying and use of ladders in addition to twisting, bending, crawling and entering attics or crawl spaces are required on a consistent basis
  • Ability to use a scissor-lift or comparable machinery
  • The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between locations and the transportation of equipment
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
