As a Director of IT Operations, you will lead the IT Systems Infrastructure and enterprise Helpdesk teams to ensure optimal performance, availability, security, and scalability of the IT systems. This role is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing the IT systems infrastructure and operations strategy, architecture, policies, and standards. Duties include overseeing the migration of workloads to the cloud and integrating cloud services with the existing IT systems infrastructure.

 

Collaboration is not just a part of this role; it's the key to success. As the Director of IT Operations, you will work closely with other IT leaders, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to align the IT systems infrastructure and operations roadmap with business objectives and priorities. This collaborative approach ensures the delivery of high-quality services and solutions.

 

This is a full time opportunity located onsite in Chicago 3 days a week with 10-15% travel to Atlanta, GA.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT systems infrastructure and operations management is required. Strong knowledge and expertise in cloud computing, on-premises systems, virtualization, and other relevant technologies and platforms are essential. Extensive experience with the Microsoft ecosystem would be ideal.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Technology Stack is required.
  • Cloud Integration: Migrating workloads to the cloud and integrating with existing infrastructure.
  • Leadership: 5+ years in strategy, budgeting, and staffing roles.
  • Legacy Systems: Managing maintenance and transitioning to new tools.
  • Microsoft Technology Stack: Exchange/email, Windows 10/11, M365, Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure Cloud, Intune, Teams, SharePoint & Defender. Knowledge of Group Policy management would be ideal.
  • VMWare vSphere.
  • Strategic Staffing: Developing and executing staffing plans to ensure optimal role alignment and employee engagement.
  • Vendor Management: Strong skills in managing vendor relationship.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
