    Responsibilities

    Sentinel is looking for an Enterprise Server Administrator to join our client. The Server Administrator will be responsible for developing and assisting management with the overall day to day technical operations of a client’s infrastructure consisting of 1800 servers on various Dell hardware and Virtual Servers on Hyper-V. The ideal candidate will have advanced experience designing and troubleshooting large, complex environments, able to see tasks through to completion and able to learn new skills on the job as demands change. This is a contract opportunity located in Chicago, IL.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience working with Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2012 R2 in a Hyper-V/System Center Virtual Machine Manager within an Enterprise Datacenter/Cloud Hybrid environment
    • Experience with the administration of an enterprise server architecture and implementation and support of hybrid cloud architectures
    • Ability to write and utilize PowerShell scripts to automate tasks
    • Experience with Microsoft Failover Clustering, Host/OS Patching, Migrations, SCOM, DPM and Avamar or similar administration
    • Ability to support enterprise server architecture (EA) governance
    • MCSD (ASA), AWS (CSA), MCSE (Private Cloud, Server Infrastructure), CCNA, ITIL preferred, not required
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
    • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
    • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
    • Must be currently working in a similar position
    • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
