    Responsibilities

    HR Generalist, Senior

    Sentinel is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will provide assistance to the VP of Human Resources and the Human Resource Manager in a range of human resource initiatives for administering and implementing high-quality, impactful HR programs including compensation planning, affirmative action planning, and talent management. Individuals must be able to work independently and in a team environment with a “can-do” attitude and must have a keen attention to detail. This is a fulltime opportunity in Downers Grove, IL.

     

    Essential duties include:

     

    1. Compensation Specialist: Develop Excel calculation worksheets to assist managers determine quarterly bonus payments based on measurable metrics.  Annually work with managers to define position expectations and write measureable objectives for the year. Performs day-to-day compensation reviews of pay changes and provides guidance on new hire pay rates. You will provide guidance to managers regarding performance metrics and compensation planning.  Implement and maintain automated performance management system.

     

    1. AAP/EEO Regulations: Complete pay equity analysis, AAP compliance reporting, and develop/implement practices to meet regulatory requirements. The Sr. HR Generalist will maintain records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

     

    1. Other duties: Assists the HR Manager with the administration of Workers Compensation, FMLA, Leaves of Absences, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Military Leaves etc. Process Prevailing Wage payments and provide back-up for payroll administration and employee onboarding.  Establishes and maintains department records and reports.  Maintain knowledge of legislative changes that affect the organization. You may also be assigned to miscellaneous projects, assist events and other HR functions.

    Qualifications

    • Experience with creating compensation plans and conducting compensation analysis, working with performance management system
    • 6-10 years of experience in a similar role
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required
    • Must have experience coaching and guiding management
    • Experience working on the development and implementation of Affirmative Action plans, EEO, ACA compliance
    • Experience working with Paylocity and/or Taleo
    • Must have excellent communications skills with strong writing and presentation skills
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
    • Must be currently working in a similar position
    • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
